Looks like OS X Mavericks doesn't like the uploader. Either that or iPhoto 9.5.  I tried every trick I could think of -- removed the app and re-installed, set it for 32-bit, rebooted . . . . Still the uploader no longer appears among the export options.
Too bad! I really enjoyed using it.
